Billing terms

Thesis-It has one paid plan, Thesis-It Pro, bought for 30 days or for 365 days. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Payments are processed by our payment provider, CHIP, and you can pay by FPX online banking, DuitNow QR, or card (Maestro, Mastercard, or Visa).

While the launch offer is open, the launch prices are RM39 for 30 days and RM369 for 365 days. We may end the launch offer at any time. After that, new subscribers pay the intended standard prices, RM69 for 30 days and RM659 for 365 days. The billing page shows the price your account pays before you pay.

An account that pays a launch price keeps the launch prices for both plans after the offer ends, including when it subscribes again after a break. A refund of a launch-price payment ends this only when the account has no other launch-price payment left.

If your card is issued outside Malaysia, your bank converts the price to your own currency at its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee. Any dollar figure shown on the billing page is an estimate, not the charged amount.

When the free trial is offered, you can try Thesis-It Pro free for 7 days. Each email address can start one trial, for life. No card or payment details are needed to start, and nothing is charged when the trial ends. There is nothing to cancel.

During the trial you can use the Pro tools with your own AI: your own Gemini API key, used under your own agreement with Google, or a chat you already use, by copying each prompt and pasting the reply back. Included AI is not part of a trial that starts on or after 17 October 2026, apart from three steps of Your research while the month's share for free trials lasts: writing your question for Google Scholar Labs, up to 10 in any 24 hours, reading the results pages you paste back, up to 6 times in any 24 hours, and proposing your title, questions and methodology, with hypotheses for the questions you keep, up to 3 times together in any 24 hours. It comes with a subscription. A trial that started before then keeps the included AI allowance it was given for its whole length. It does not reset or carry over, and it can pause when the month's service budget runs short.

The trial ends exactly 7 days after it starts, at the time shown on the billing page in Malaysian time (MYT). We email you 24 hours before it ends. After it ends, your account is read-only. You can still read your theses and delete them. Editing, importing, AI help, sharing and exporting resume when you subscribe.

Subscribing during the trial ends it. Your paid period starts when the payment provider confirms the payment, and the trial's remaining days and AI allowance do not carry over. A refund of a later payment does not restart the trial. The prices are in section 1.

To keep to one trial for each email address, we keep a keyed one-way hash of the address with the trial record, also after the account is deleted, as the Privacy Policy explains. If the name on a new trial, or a thesis title named during it, matches an earlier trial's, we are alerted so that we can look into it. A match alone changes nothing on either account.

Places for new trials are limited each day. If they are taken, the billing page says when to try again, and you can message us on WhatsApp at +60 17-470 4553 or email support@thesisit.app.

Workshop access is not part of the trial. It comes with a paid plan.

We may stop offering the trial to new accounts at any time. A trial that has already started runs to its end.

• Adopt your university's thesis structure from your own template, guideline or exemplar, and keep it versioned as it changes
• Write every chapter in the editor, with your sources, citations and figures, and bring in chapters you already wrote in Word
• Use the AI drafting and checking steps with AI included in your plan: a monthly allowance on leading AI models, typically enough to draft one long chapter a month with every check. The app shows how much of the month's allowance is left, and each AI step shows its share before it runs. How far the allowance goes depends on how much text a step reads and writes, not on which AI service answers it. Unused allowance does not carry over to the next month. Relevant text is sent to the Google Gemini API, OpenAI API and Anthropic API. Draft packages, replies and check results are stored for resumption and review, together with usage and provider records. You may use your own Gemini API key instead (the key is yours and stays on your device), or copy each prompt into a chat you already use and paste the reply back
• Run Examiner Readiness and the consistency checks, and export your thesis as a Word document in your university's format
• Share your thesis with your supervisor for comments and sign-offs, and prepare progress reports, supervisor packs, viva questions and the corrections list
• Sync your thesis to your account and use it on your devices
• Keep one active thesis at a time, and start up to 3 new theses in any 12 months, as the Terms of Service describe. Archived theses stay in your account to read and export

After a paid plan ends, reading, exporting and deleting your thesis stay free and need no active subscription. After a free trial ends without a subscription, reading and deleting stay free, and exporting needs a subscription.

Included AI and the layout check run on services we pay for, within a monthly budget. When the month's spending comes close to that budget, we may pause them for every account until the next month begins (UTC) or until we resume them sooner. A pause does not shorten your Pro period or your trial, and your thesis stays open to read, write and export as your plan allows.

While included AI is paused, the app says so where you would use it. You can keep going with your own Gemini API key, used under your own agreement with Google, or by copying each prompt into a chat you use yourself and pasting the reply back.

Pro access starts when the payment provider confirms your payment, usually within a few minutes of paying. Your access is activated by a verified confirmation from the payment provider, not by returning to the Thesis-It website. If you paid and access has not appeared after a few minutes, see the Need help? page.

Each payment adds the days of the plan you chose, 30 days or 365 days. If you renew early, the new days are added on top of your current period, so paying early never costs you days.

If you pay by card and tick Auto-renew my subscription at checkout, your subscription renews automatically. The price your account pays for its plan is charged to your card near the end of each period, until you turn auto-renew off. Your card details are held by the payment provider. Thesis-It never sees or stores them.

You can turn auto-renew off at any time on the billing page. Turning it off does not shorten access you have already paid for.

If an automatic charge fails, auto-renew switches off, we email you, and you can renew manually. An automatic charge is never more than the price your account pays for its plan, shown on the billing page.

FPX and DuitNow QR payments cannot renew automatically, because they are one-time payments. If you pay with these methods, you renew by hand each cycle. We send reminder emails before your access ends (and one shortly after), so a renewal is never a surprise.

There is no lock-in and nothing extra to cancel. If auto-renew is off, your subscription simply runs to the end of the paid period and stops. If auto-renew is on, turning it off on the billing page is the only step. Either way, you keep full Pro access until the end of the period you paid for.

After Pro access ends, your account becomes read-only. Your thesis stays on your devices and in your account, and it stays readable, exportable and deletable. Writing, importing, AI steps and sharing pause until you renew.

After a free trial ends without a subscription, your account becomes read-only in the same way, except that exporting your thesis needs a subscription. You can still read everything and delete it.

Pro subscribers are eligible to join Thesis-It online workshops that run while their access is active. Sessions are scheduled periodically, and availability and capacity may vary. Registration instructions are sent by email to eligible users. Certificates depend on attendance and on meeting the stated completion requirements. Workshop access ends when Pro access ends.

If a payment fails or is cancelled, nothing changes on your account and you are not charged. If money left your bank account but your access did not activate, the payment is usually matched to your account automatically within minutes. If it is not, contact support and we will put it right. Refunds are covered by the refund policy. When a refund is granted, Pro access from that payment ends at the time of the refund. If the refunded payment was your account's only remaining launch-price payment, the launch prices end for your account, and later payments are at the prices then on offer.

If the price or these terms change, we will email the address on your account before the change takes effect for your future renewals. Periods you have already paid for are never affected by a price change. Ending the launch offer does not change the price of an account that keeps the launch prices.
